Note one
The first shipment of packaging came wrapped in plastic film with a plastic insert. I stood in the hall holding it and knew I could not send that to anyone. Honeycomb kraft card costs more and takes longer to arrive. It also holds the marble better.
Note two
Marble carries its own veining. A grey seam runs through one piece and misses the next. Some buyers ask for the one in the photograph. I tell them the one they receive came out of the same block and looks like itself.
Note three
The mortgage took nine months during a wrecked economy. Every builder's quote came back too high, so I managed the site myself, hired trades week by week and tracked the costs in a spreadsheet. That build taught me how to run this.
Note four
I am testing two more pieces in stone and metal. Neither goes on sale until I have lived with it in my own kitchen for a season.
